The DS419slim is an ultra-compact, cube-shaped, 4-bay network-attached storage device that weighs 700 grams and measures 142 x 105 x 120 mm in dimensions. It has four, hot-swappable 2.5-inch drive trays in a flexible configuration that enables hard drives or solid state drives to be used. The 32-bit Dual Core CPU runs at 1.33 GHz and includes a hardware encryption engine to ensure data security. Data transfer speeds of over 223 MB/second read and 94 MB/second write are supported. Synology’s Hybrid RAID (SHR) technology provides easy, automated RAID management plus 1 to 2-disk redundancy to safeguard your data during drive failures.
The DS419slim provides a complete multimedia solution for management, streaming, and playback. Users can backup files to Mac, PC, and mobile devices and access data stored on the device over the Internet via QuickConnect, which allows you to connect via a secure, customisable address. The DS419slim can also be used as a home media hub for streaming digital contents to computers, mobile devices, Samsung TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, and DLNA devices. Synology say their comprehensive built-in security tools are constantly updated to tackle evolving threats and protect the devices.
The DiskStation DS419Slim will be available in the Australia market from end of July at an RRP of AU$507. Click here for more information.
