Sigma has added three lenses to its Contemporary lineup, the 17mm f/4 DG DN and 50mm f/2 DG DN for full-frame cameras and the 23mm f/1.4 DC DN for APS-C format cameras.

The 17mm f/4 and 50mm f/2 are the eighth and ninth lenses to join the popular  I-series and feature compact metal barrels and tactile controls.  Both are dust and splash resistant and powered by stepping motors for fast and quiet autofocusing. Metal lens hoods and magnetic lens caps are supplied with both lenses. The 17mm lens is the widest lens in the series and is ideal tor landscape, architecture, vlogging and travel photography. The 50mm lens is well suited for portrait, food, and street photography and light enough for travel or everyday snapshooting.

Rounding out the announcement is the 23mm f/1.4 DC DN lens for APS-C cameras, which is available in Sony E and L- mount versions. Sigma has teased the future release of a Fujifilm X mount version of this lens. Offering the equivalent of a 35mm focal length, this lens can be used for street, landscape and architectural photography as well as for recording video, where its stepping motor-driven AF system provides near silent autofocusing. Like the other lenses, it is dust and splash resistant.

The new lenses will be available from late April 2023. Click here for more information.
