Western Digital has announced the immediate release of the SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD in Australia.

The new storage device leverages WD’s proprietary NVMe technology to deliver transfer speeds to up to 1050MB/second, enabling photographers and videographers to move professional-grade videos and photos speedily and edit them directly from the drive. The SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD sports a ruggedised design with a forged aluminium body that protects its solid-state core and dissipates heat to keep the drive running at top speed. A durable silicon rubber coating delivers higher impact resistance and the drive is IP55 rated for water and dust resistance to keep content protected. Drives are available now in the 500GB and 1TB capacities, with 2TB capacity to launch at a later date. Compact and pocket-sized the new drives are compatible with both PCs and Mac computers and connect with USB Type-C and Type-A connectors making it easy to use in almost any situation.
The SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD comes with a limited 5-year warranty3. The 500GB and 1TB capacities are available now at JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and Harvey Norman with prices startingat AUD $259 (RRP) for 500GB or AUD $399 for 1TB.
