The optical design of this lens has a 16-element, 10-group lens configuration that includes two aspherical ED elements, one Super ED, one ED, one Super HR and one HD element, which work to minimise aberrations such as chromatic aberration across the entire zoom range. A large DSA lens was included to significantly reduce sagittal coma. Proprietary ZERO Coating has been applied to suppress ghosting and flare during backlit shooting and ensure sharp, high-definition images. Fluorine coating on the front lens makes it easy to keep clean.
