NiSi Filters has announced a new 9mm f/2.8 Sunstar super wide angle lens for cropped-sensor cameras with Canon RF, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z and Micro Four Thirds mounts.

Covering a 113-degree field of view (100 degrees with the M4/3 model) and able to create sunstars at all aperture settings, the new lens features a compact metal construction, precise optical design and minimal distortion and vignetting. It is also easy to carry with an overall weight of just 364 grams, making it ideal for travellers. The optical design comprises 14 elements in 12 groups and includes two double-sided aspherical elements plus four extra-low dispersion elements. Its minimum focus distance is 20 cm and the minimum aperture is f/16. Features include ‘super’ flare resistance, low coma for astrophotography and a yellow weather-resistant seal around the lens mount.
The lens comes with a two-year warranty and will sell for AU$649. It is scheduled for release in October. Click here for full details.
