A new lens, the Z DX 12-28mm f/3.5-5.6 PZ VR is being added to the options available for Nikon’s Z-mount cropped-sensor cameras in the near future.

Pre-orders are being accepted for the new lens, which has an RRP of AU$598 and is the first Nikkor Z lens to come with a linear drive power zoom that supports remote-control operation and provides steady zooming. Then optical design of the new lens contains 12 elements in 11 groups and includes one ED and one aspherical element. Seven diaphragm blades create a rounded iris for attractive bokeh, while VR in-lens stabilisation uses voice coil motors (VCMs) for fast and accurate steadiness with shake correction of up to 4.5 stops. The internal focusing system can focus to within 19 cm of subjects with a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.21x.
The new lens is 63.5 mm long with a diameter of 72 mm and a weight of just 205 grams. It accepts 67 mm diameter filters. It is supplied with front and end caps. Click here for more information.
