Weighing approximately 315 grams, the new lens is an all-in-one zoom for Nikon’s DX-format Z-mount cameras, the Z50 and Z fc. Designed with a smooth satin finish and dust and drip resistant construction, it has a plastic lens mount and a minimum focal distance range of 20-40 cm. Its optical design consists of 17 elements in 13 groups and includes two aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion (ED) elements. Built-in VR stabilisation claims up to five stops of shake correction at the 140mm focal length, making it ideal for shooting sports and wildlife.

Autofocusing is driven by a stepping motor and the system is designed to minimise  focus breathing,  making  the new lens ideal for use when shooting video. The electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism keeps exposure levels constant during zooming to ensure smooth, natural changes. The control ring on the lens can be programmed to adjust functions such as ISO sensitivity, aperture, or exposure compensation.

The new Nikkor Z DX 18-140mm f/3.5-6.3 VR lens will be available from November 2021 at an RRP of AU$999. Click here for more information.
