Designed for Panasonic’s S Series of ‘full frame’ mirrorless cameras, the new lens weighs only 350 grams and is dust and splash resistant with  a fluorine coating on the front lens element to repel water and oil. Suitable for a wide range of genres, from landscapes to street photography, it can focus to within 15 cm of the subject, providing a magnification of 0.43x. This makes it ideal for product and food photography as well as capturing cramped interiors.

The optical design of this lens utilises 11 elements in 9 groups, with two aspherical and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements included to suppress both axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration of magnification. Astigmatism is also corrected and, a UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index) lens achieves uniform image quality from the centre to edges of the image while contributing to downsizing of the lens unit. The filter diameter is 67 mm, with a 9-blade circular aperture diaphragm. Effective focus breathing suppression ensures smooth, high quality video recording.

The S-R2060 will be available in Australia in July 2020 from photographic specialists and consumer electronics retailers, priced at $1099 RRP. Click here for full details.
