NiSi has announced the immediate availability of a new lens hood for the Nikon Z 14-24mm f2.8S lens with a 112 mm filter thread.

Designed to replace the HB-97 included with the lens, the NiSi lens hood eliminates the light leak that makes the supplied lens hood unsuitable for long exposures. It also provides better performance with ND filters. The NiSi lens hood features the same flower-shaped design with the dimensions matching the Nikon HB-97 lens hood and includes a 112 mm filter thread making it compatible with NiSi’s 112 mm circular filters. The hood includes a locking screw which will keep the hood attached to the lens to add safety and security.

NiSi has also issued an advance notice covering the NiSi Ti Pro Titanium Step Up Rings, which allow the use of larger filters on smaller lens threads. Available for pre-order, they feature a lightweight titanium frame, which is corrosion resistant and will not bend like standard step up rings. Easier to remove than standard setup rings, they include a matte black finish plus anti-reflective felt and will be available in early March in sizes from 40.5 mm through to 82 mm at an RRP of $39.99.
