Venus Optics has added an 18mm M4/3 lens and a 25mm APS-C lens to its Argus series of f/0.95 ultra-large aperture lenses.

The new additions provide MFT and APS-C users with an option to cover a 35mm equivalent focal length with an ultra-fast f/0.95 maximum aperture that makes shooting in low-light environments easier and can be used to create a very shallow depth of field with ultra-smooth bokeh. Both lenses feature an APO design for combating chromatic aberration and maintaining sharpness even with the aperture wide open. The minimum focusing distances are 20cm and 34cm respectively for the 18mm f/0.95 and 25mm f/0.95. The two new Argus lenses are also designed to be video-friendly with de-clickable aperture ring switches and low focus breathing changing the focus from one object to another. The 18mm lens weighs only 500 grams, while the 25mm lens is 575 grams. The Laowa Argus 25mm f/0.95 APS-C APO will be available in Canon RF and EF-M, Fujifilm X, Nikon Z and Sony E mounts.

Both lenses are available to purchase via the Venus Optics official website with the Laowa Argus 18mm f/0.95 MFT APO priced at US$449 and the Laowa Argus 25mm f/0.95 APS-C APO at US$549 for all mounts.
