With an 84-degree to 121.9-degree zoom range, the new lens has a constant f/5.6 aperture and a minimum focus of 15 cm. Compact and light in weight, it has a diameter of 69.4 mm and an overal length between 84 mm and 95.6 mm, depending on the lens mount. Its overall weight is approximately 497 grams without end caps and supplied lens hood. Like many Laowa wide-angle lenses, the new 12-24mm zoom lens is designed with a 5-bladed aperture which produces 10-pointed sunstars when the aperture is stopped right down. It is supplied with an adaptor ring that accepts 77 mm filters and doubles as a lens hood. The front element carries a water and dust repelling ‘Frog-Eye’ coating (FEC) to add an extra layer of protection.
The 12-24mm f/5.6 Zoom is currently available to purchase via the Venus Optics official website and authorised resellers. It is priced at US$649 for the Canon RF, Sony E and Nikon Z while US$699 for the Leica M version.
