Only 25 mm in length and weighing just 130 grams, the new lens is one of the world’s widest rectilinear ‘pancake’ lenses for APS-C cameras, covering a 109.3-degree angle of view. It features a special optical design that minimises rectilinear distortion and is ideal for street, urban, landscape photography and everyday snapshots. It is also ideal for use with gimbals. The optical construction utilises 12 elements in eight groups and includes two aspherical and four extra-low dispersion elements. Five diaphragm blades produce attractive 10-pointed sunstars when the lens is stopped down and attractive bokeh at wide aperture settings. The minimum focus is 10 cm, which enables users to capture close-ups with a nice separation between the subject and the background. The front of the lens is threaded to accept 37 mm filters.

The Laowa 10mm f/4 Cookie is currently available to purchase via the Venus Optics official website and authorised resellers. The US RRP for the Laowa 10mm f/4 Cookie is US$299 for all mounts. Click here to visit the product page for this lens.
