Covering an angle of view of 65 degrees, which is similar angle of view to a 35mm lens in 35mm format, the Mitakon 17mm lens has an ultra-fast f/0.95 maximum aperture, which is ideal for use in low-light conditions. It also offers a wide range of depth-of-field control for selective focusing. A rounded 8-bladed iris diaphragm delivers smooth bokeh. This lens can focus as close as 30 cm from subjects and accepts 58 mm filters.
The optical design of this lens includes 12 elements in 9 groups with one Extra-low dispersion element and four High Refractive index elements to minimise chromatic aberrations. With a weight of only 461 grams and only 65.4 mm in length, the new 17mm f/0.95 lens is currently one of the smallest in its category. The stepless aperture ring makes it ideal for video use. It can be used on cinema-orientated cameras like the Pocket 4K, GH5 and Z-Cam E2 for shooting footage with a shallow depth of field. Mitakon Speedmaster 17mm f/0.95 III is now available to ship and purchase at the ZY Optics official website. The recommended retail price in the USA is $399.
