Olympus has released a new lens roadmap, an update on the 150-400mm lens announced in January plus upcoming firmware for Bird Subject Detection Autofocus with the OM-D E-M1X.

The latest lens roadmap from Olympus adds two new lenses, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 8-25mm F4.0 PRO lens, as well as an unspecified macro lens, which will go on sale at the end of this year. It has also released an update of anticipated availability of the previously announced M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm F4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO super telephoto zoom lens with built-in 1.25x teleconverter, which is now scheduled for release in late 2020.

The company is also completing a firmware update for the OM-D E-M1X camera that will add Bird Detection capability to existing Intelligent Subject Detection Autofocus system on the camera. This new feature will be available for the E-M1X via a firmware update that is scheduled for release in the Northern Hemisphere Winter 2020.
