The new Leica D-Lux 8 compact camera, which is based on a 22-megapixel Four Thirds (17.3 x 13 mm) sensor is now available at all Leica Stores, including online, plus authorised dealers.

Featuring a stabilised Leica DC Vario-Summilux 10.9-34mm f/1.7-2.8 ASPH. zoom lens (35mm equivalent of 24-75mm), a high-resolution touchscreen monitor and new 2,400,000-dot OLED viewfinder with Live View function, it supports all the essential functions for photography and video. The updated body provides improvements over the D-Lux 7 with an optimised button layout and improved user interface. The D-Lux 8 can record photographs at an effective resolution of 17 megapixels in both DNG and JPEG formats and also capture 4K video. It can seamlessly connect to the Leica FOTOS app, allowing images to be downloaded, edited and shared directly to a smartphone. The app also supports DNG files and video downloads as well as remote camera operation, including optical zoom and managing camera firmware updates.
A new range of accessories is available to complement the new camera, including leather half-cases and matching neck and wrist straps in the colour combinations black, cognac/petrol and olive/burgundy, as well as an equipment bag and hip bag in black. Other accessories include the auto lens cap and the new handgrip as well as screw-on soft release buttons.
