Leica Camera will launch the latest edition of its compact, fixed-lens camera series, the Leica D-Lux 8, globally on 2 July 2024, bringing the ability to record DNG.RAW files to the series.

The D-Lux 8 features an M4/3 format CMOS sensor with 21,000,000 photosites and an effective resolution of 17 megapixels. Its fast DC Vario-Summilux 10.9–34 f/1.7–2.8 ASPH. lens covers a 35mm equivalent zoom range of 24-75mm), intuitive design and the camera is said to offer a series of reduced-resolution crops, similar to those offered by the Leica Q series. It also supports seamless connectivity with the Leica FOTOS app. Leica has shifted to an OLED EVF for the new model, which should provide an improvement on the EVF in the D-Lux 7, even though the resolution is the same. The new camera also supports USB-C charging. A new range of accessories, including a hand grip, carrying straps, wrist straps, and leather protectors, will be available in multiple colours.

The Leica D-Lux 8 will be available in Australia from 11 pm on the 2nd July through the Leica Online Store, and from the 3rd July 2024 at its Leica Stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Chadstone, and through authorised dealers.
