Venus Optics has announced the immediate release of four new cine lenses and two bundles for Micro Four Thirds mount cameras.

 


The Laowa 6mm T2.1 Zero-D MFT Cine, at 121.9 degrees, provides the widest angle of view, enabling it to be used in tight spaces and for capturing expansive scenes. Carrying the ‘Zero-Distortion’ badge, this lens contains 13 elements in three groups with two aspherical glasses, controlling distortion. Its closest focusing distance is 9 cm. The Laowa 10mm T2.1 Zero-D MFT Cine covers a 96 degree angle of view and is designed to achieve minimum distortion. Its optical design consists of 11 elements in seven groups with two ED and two aspherical lens elements to address distortion and colour fringing. Measuring 56 x 47 mm and weighing only 150 grams, it is the smallest in the range and ideal for use with gimbals and drone cameras. It accepts 49 mm screw-in filters. The Laowa 17mm T1.9 MFT Cine is a fast and compact lens with a 65 degree field of view on a Micro Four Thirds sensor. Weighing approximately 175 grams it is 53mm long with a diameter of 56 mm and a minimum focus distance of 15 cm, making it ideal for close-ups. Full details can be found here.

The Laowa 50mm T2.9 Macro APO MFT Cine lens provides twice life-size magnification but can also focus out to infinity. Its focal length is also ideal for portraiture, making it more versatile. The apochromatic design consists of  14 elements in 10 groups and includes three ED glass elements. Weighing only 289 grams it is 83 mm long with a diameter of 58 mm. Click here for full details.

Laowa has also released two new three-lens bundles for M4/3 cameras: a Wide + Macro bundle containing the 10mm, 17mm and 50mm cine lenses (RRPUS$1350) and a Wide bundle with the 7.5mm T2.1, 10mm and 17mm lenses for US$1450,
