The new lens is designed for photographers who shoot landscapes, street photography and environmental and group portraits as well as all kinds of low-light photography and videography. Measuring 68.5 x 106 mm in size and weighing approximately 562 grams, it is also very portable. The optical design contains 13 elements in 7 groups and includes two ED and two UHR elements. Thirteen diaphragm blades create a circular aperture and create smooth and attractive bokeh at wide aperture settings. An internal focusing mechanism keeps the barrel length constant and facilitates the use of angle-critical filters, which can be attached to the 62 mm filter thread. The lens also boasts an Aperture Ring Click Switch Mechanism that lets users choose whether to have a clicked or silent aperture ring, which meets the needs of videographers.
The New Laowa Argus 28mm f/1.2 FF is currently available to purchase via the Venus Optics official website and authorised resellers. It carries an RRP of US$599 for all mounts. Click here to visit the product page for the lens.
