The XS1000 red joins the original all-black XS1000, which we reviewed in September 2023 and silver XS2000, diversifying Kingston’s external SSD product lineup. Weighing less than 29 grams, these ultra-compact SSDs are only 69 mm long, 32 mm wide and 13 mm thick. Each drive has a USB Type-C socket at one end but is supplied with a USB Type-C to Type-A cable to enable it to be connected to older equipment. Any regular USB-C to USB-C cable can be used to connect it to devices like laptops, iPhones and Android smartphones, smart TVs and tablets. Using the USB-C to USB-C also supports higher read/write speeds.
XS1000 is available in 1TB and 2TB capacities and is backed by a limited five-year warranty4 with free technical support. Click here for more information.
