All of the control functions are located in the new CFV 100C back, which boasts a touch display that can be flipped upward to 40° and 90° for classical waist-level shooting. The 907x camera plate is essentially a lens mount, which means older backs can be used with the CFV 100C, although only with manual focusing. Pairing the 907X mount with the CFV 100C medium format digital back results in a weight of only 620 grams, which is 120 grams lighter than previous options and better balanced.
The new sensor claims a dynamic range of 15 stops and a native ISO of 64 plus 16-bit colour depth for natural, smooth colour gradations and vivid landscapes. The Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) optimises colours to appear authentically and naturally with smoother and more delicate transitions, coming close to those seen by the human eye. The 907X and CFV 100C come equipped with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), with 294 PDAF zones spread over the 100-megapixel sensor surface. A new face detection function facilitates more efficient and convenient portrait shooting.
The new body has a built-in 1TB SSD storage drive with a write speed of up to 2370MB/s and a read speed of up to 2850MB/s, along with a CFexpress Type B card slot for storage expansion. They can be linked with an iPad or iPhone via built-in Wi-Fi to transmit full-size JPEG/RAW images using Phocus Mobile 2 app. The new hot shoe adaptor can be utilised for flash accessories.
The Hasselblad CFV 100C will be offered with the 907x for an MSRP of US$8199 and is available to order online here. We have been unable to find any information about the local release date or pricing but will update this announcement when we have it.
