The new HERO9 Black camera is waterproof to 10 meters and features a new 1.4-inch front-facing display plus a larger 2.27-inch touch-screen rear display. Its removable, rechargeable battery delivers 30% more battery life, while a new Max Lens Mod accessory introduces Max HyperSmooth video stabilisation with in-camera horizon levelling and Max SuperView ultra wide-angle photo and video. Wastage has also been reduced by using a high-value travel case instead of traditional wasteful packaging. The HERO9 Black supports 1080p live streaming and includes a 1080p webcam mode for vloggers. It has three microphones with advanced wind-noise reduction and supports stereo and RAW audio recording. A larger speaker delivers improved audio playback.

The all-new Max Lens Mod (AU$159.95) brings unbreakable Max HyperSmooth video

stabilisation and low-distortion, ultra-wide Max SuperView to HERO9 Black at up to 2.7K60

resolution. Max Lens Mod also allows for horizon lock even when the camera is rotated a

full 360°. This provides creative versatility for social media producers, film and television professionals and weekend warriors. HERO9 Black-compatible Mods also include the Media Mod for HERO9 Black (AU$129.95), now with a removable foam windscreen; Display Mod (AU$129.95); and Light Mod (AU$84.95). Max Lens Mod will be available globally starting October 2020. The Media Mod for HERO9 Black and Display Mod will be available starting Sept. 17. The Light Mod is currently available on GoPro.com as well as at select retailers.
