Featuring a compact and lightweight body weighing approximately 438 grams plus the back-illuminated 40.2-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and X-Processor 5, the X-T50 is the first in the X-mount series with a Film Simulation dial on the top plate allowing the user to easily switch between Film Simulations. Use of the latest image processing algorithm delivers high resolution while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio, while an improved pixel structure allows more light to be captured efficiently, reducing the base ISO to 125. The electronic shutter can be set to a maximum shutter speed of 1/180000 sec., achieving highly precise control of exposure time. The X-T50 also includes an AI-based subject detection AF developed using deep learning technology, which is able to detect animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, trains, insects, and drones. An improved AF prediction algorithm enables more comfortable shooting of a wide range of subjects, including fast-moving cars and animals.
The camera is also equipped with a 5-axis In Body Image Stabilisation function with a maximum of 7.0 stops. It also supports 6.2K/30p video recording with tracking AF and automatic scene detection. The rounded body and new grip shape fits comfortably in the hand while maintaining a compact size. A pop-up flash integrated with the viewfinder is mounted on the top plate. It automatically controls the amount of light and shows its power in dark scenes and backlit portraits. The new model features the same 1.84 million-dot, tiltable rear LCD monitor as the X-T30 II. The Fujifilm X-T50 will go on sale on 17 June at an RRP of AU$2,599 for the body only. Several kit options are available, including with the new Fujinon XF 16-50mm f/2.8-4.8 R LM WR lens.

The new Fujinon XF 16-50mm f/2.8-4.8 R LM WR lens will replace Fujifilm’s standard kit lens, offering Aussie photographers a more lightweight, portable, dust and weather-resistant lens that is great for travel, landscapes and street photography. Featuring an optical design comprised of 11 elements in nine groups, it includes three aspherical lenses and three ED lenses to suppress chromatic aberration and maintain high resolution performance throughout the zoom range. The minimum focusing distance is 24 cm throughout the zoom range, providing a maximum shooting macro magnification of 0.3x at the telephoto end. The high-speed and high-precision autofocus system, achieved through the miniaturisation of the focus lens group, can lock onto subjects within approximately 0.015 seconds. The XF 16-50mm f/2.8-4.8 R LM WR lens will be released concurrently with the X-T50 camera, at an RRP of AU$1,299. Details of both products can be found at http://www.fujifilm.com/au.
