The X-T200 comes with a 24.24-megapixel APS-C sensor plus a high-performance image processor. The sensor uses copper wiring to make the speed of data readout 3.5 times faster than that of the previous model, while significantly reducing the rolling shutter effect. Proprietary colour reproduction technology can reproduce image hues as the photographer remembers them. On-sensor phase detection pixels have been added to improve the camera’s AF performance, which is aided be a new algorithm that enables superior AF tracking of moving subjects plus face and eye recognition. Automated functions, like Main Subject Recognition, allow the camera to be set to recognize and track a main subject within the frame. This can be combined with a burst mode of up to 8 fps.
A vari-angle 3.5-inch 16:9 LCD monitor with touchscreen operations provides excellent operability with the ease and familiarity of a smartphone. 4K video can be recorded at up to 30 fps and the inclusion of a new “Digital Gimbal” electronic stabilisation mode and HDR Video modes, along with its basic internal editing functions, makes it easy to create content for sharing on social networks. Fujifilm’s popular Film Simulation modes are pre-installed into X-T200 with 11 options selectable. There are also 20 Advanced Filters, which includes the new Clarity Filter, to provide more creative options for JPEG shooters.
The X-T200 has a built-in pop-up flash, integrally designed into the viewfinder section. The camera automatically controls light output according to each scene and distance to the subject, so as to prevent highlight clipping for a natural reproduction of the subject in flash photography. The camera body weighs only 370 grams, roughly 80 grams lighter than the previous model. The X-T200 is available now for RRP AU$1,379. Three colour options are offered: Silver, Dark Silver and Champagne Gold.
Announced simultaneously with the X-T200 is the new Fujinon XC35mm f/2 lens, a compact standard lens that weighs only 130 grams and is 46.5 mm long. Key features of this lens include its fast and silent AF capability and its exceptional portability.
