Nicknamed the ‘nifty fifty’ lens for its versatility, the RF 50mm f/1.8 STM is smaller in size than the EF version and Mount Adapter combined. With a standard 50mm angle of view and a wide maximum aperture of f/1.8, the RF 50mm f/1.8 STM provides a natural-looking perspective that is close to that of human vision. It boasts a minimum focusing distance of 30 cm, which is 5cm closer than the existing EF version, and features Super Spectra Coating technology. Its seven-blade iris diaphragm, inherited from the EF version, produces attractive bokeh at wide aperture settings.

Lightweight and compact, the RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM is 32% smaller than its EF equivalent, weighing only 695 grams and measuring just 11.9 cm in length. Ideal for travellers and suitable for sports and wildlife photography as well as portraiture, this lens comes with a reversible hood. Its optical design includes four Ultra Low Dispersion (UD) elements plus Air Sphere Coating. Minimum focus has been reduced from one metre to 60 cm and the 9-blade iris diaphragm and constant f/4 aperture deliver superb bokeh. The RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM also features Canon’s 5-stop Optical Image Stabiliser, which provides up to 7.5 stops of shake correction with the new Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6 cameras.
Both lenses will be available from authorised local dealers from December 2020 and be supported by Canon Australia’s 5-year warranty when purchased from an authorised local dealer. The RF 50mm f/1.8 STM will have an RRP of AU$389.00. while the RF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM will be priced at AU$3,079.
