Canon has unveiled two new RF-S kit lenses, the RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM and RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM designed specifically for the EOS R7 and EOS R10 cameras.

Offering a 35mm equivalent focal length of 29-72mm the RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM is a general-purpose lens for everyday shooting, while the RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM covers a longer, 29-240mm equivalent focal range. The RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM features a compact design retracting mechanism which makes it perfect for travellers. With a manual focus override and lead-screw-type STM for smooth, quiet movie autofocus, it is also ideal for capturing video content. The RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM is a high magnification zoom lens covering wide-angle to telephoto lengths. Offering a maximum magnification of 0.59x in MF mode it enables users to explore macro photography in everyday scenes and is also usable for sports and wildlife photography. This lens would suit photographers looking for a single-lens option with their R7 or R10 camera.
Both lenses incorporate Canon’s advanced optical technology that minimises chromatic aberrations and offers distortion correction and are able to integrate with the IBIS in EOS R7 and Movie Digital IS in EOS R10 to provide up to seven -stops of IS in the RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM and 6.5-stops in RF-S 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM. Both lenses have seven-bladed iris diaphragms that help to create attractive bokeh. The table below compares key features of the two lenses.
