The new functions are being announced ahead of the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, where nearly 85% of all films in the event have been produced using Adobe Creative Cloud products. The new media intelligence and search panel in Adobe Premiere Pro (beta) makes it quicker and easier to search through gigabytes of files to find a specific clip. Premiere Pro (beta) also now offers new AI-powered caption translation that automates the often expensive and inefficient process of multilingual caption generation, helping video pros effortlessly connect with audiences worldwide. New After Effects innovations include improved caching that enables computers with the minimum specifications to play back complex creations as soon as they are cached. Users will also be able to import, monitor and export HDR content for brighter and more vivid output. Frame.io also expanded support for Camera to Cloud (C2C) support for Canon.
Adobe and the Adobe Foundation have also announced an additional US$5 million commitment to the Adobe Film & TV Fund for supporting underrepresented creators and filmmakers in finding career opportunities on-screen and behind the camera. The Adobe Film & TV Fund is partnering with Group Effort Initiative (GEI) to provide Adobe training courses for the next generation of workers in the film and television industries.
Details of the new initiatives can be found on the Adobe Blog.
