LaserSoft Imaging has released the latest version of its printing software for Mac OS X users with Epson and Canon large format printers.

PrinTao 8 combines all tools and features required for professional printing in a single program window, making it easy to select files from image libraries in iPhoto, Aperture and Lightroom. The main working area shows the actual print media and the images placed thereon. The sidebar on the right provides all tools used to adjust layout, image properties and printer settings.
The PrinTao 8 Start-Pilot makes creating new documents easy. Its ICC colour management is based on one of the best colour engines in the world with special focus on accuracy and performance. Resolution can be controlled by a slider that indicates whether the resolution of an image is sufficient for the actual printing size. The Media Manager makes it easy to locate and select paper profiles.
Built-in templates automatically arrange images to minimise paper wastage, with templates for portrait packages, best fit and minimal paper cutting. Frames and guidelines are provided to help users arrange images on the Free templates and a manual cut mode enables users to specify where cuts should be applied.
