Tamron has reduced the Australian price of its popular 15x DX zoom lens to AU$499 as a result of successful global sales.

Claimed as the lightest and smallest 15x zoom lens, the 18-270mm Di II VC PZD weighs only 450 grams and ranked as the top-selling stand-alone camera lens sold across the country last year. The Piezo Drive AF system is fast and accurate, while wide zoom range makes it attractive as an all-purpose workhorse for any photographic situation.

This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 0.49m throughout the zoom range and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8.  This lens was priced at AU$849 when we reviewed it in March 2011.
