January 28, 2004: Nikon’s new Coolwalker MSV-01 is a 30GB portable image storage device designed to enhance the organisation, distribution and enjoyment of digital images.
Featuring a large 6.3cm (2.5-inch) TFT monitor and easy-to-use menu, it provides portable storage and viewing facilities for photographers in the field, without the need for a PC.

Images can be viewed on the high resolution screen with the full range of image playback functions available, such as Rotate, Zoom, Histogram and EXIF shooting data. The device is compatible with JPEG, TIFF and RAW NEF (Nikon Electronic Format) files produced by Nikon DSLRs and certain Coolpix digital cameras and will accept CompactFlash via Type I/II slot, or SD cards with suitable adapter.
The Coolwalker can operate for up to 90 minutes with its powerful rechargeable Lithium Polymer Nikon EN-EL6 battery and charger/AC adaptor (included). It is due for release in Australia in May. Pricing has yet to be announced. Details are available from www.maxwell.com.au.
