November 25, 2006: Pixel Place has released a new 15 x 10 cm colour reference card that is small enough for photographers to carry in their camera bags for field use yet large enough for studio use. Designed to provide an accurate colour and greyscale reference for digital photographers, the Perfect-Pixs Porta-Target Digital Photographic Reference Card includes colour and grey tone patches that have been specially formulated to provide digital photographers with the colours that all digital cameras can record, monitors can display and printers can reproduce. Six colour patches cover red, green, blue, yellow, magenta and cyan hues, while the tone patches include white, middle grey and black plus six intermediate shades of grey. Each card is manufactured in a two-stage process to ensure colour and grey tone accuracy. The cards are printed on one millimetre thick rigid archival board and are moisture resistant and easy to carry. They can be used to set digital camera white balance as well as for fine-tuning image white, grey and black points during image processing. They can also be used with camera metering systems to provide precise exposure control in tricky lighting conditions as well as providing an in-image or pre-and-post-shooting colour reference.
