October 18, 2006: Creative Labs has released a new portable video, photo and MP3 player the Creative ZEN Vision W, which is available in 30GB and 60GB and sports a CompactFlash card slot for downloading image files.
A high resolution, 4.3-inch colour widescreen TFT display (16:9 format) is provided for viewing up to 240 hours of video or tens of thousands of photos, and the Creative ZEN Vision W can carry up to 15,000 songs in memory. The Creative ZEN Vision W is also ideal as a portable camera companion. It supports a wide selection of video formats, including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4-SP, MJPEG and XviD, for playback of video clips and movies downloaded from the Internet. Digitised home movies can also be transferred to the device from a user’s PC. The removable rechargeable battery provides up to 4.5 hours of video playback.
The convenient Plug&View slot on the side of the player supports both Compact Flash Type I and Type II media. An optional Compact Flash Adapter plugs directly into the Compact Flash slot to accept other popular memory card types including SmartMedia, MultiMedia Card and Secure Digital. A composite AV-out connection allows stored digital photos to be played back in full colour, at 720 x 480 pixel size on any NTSC TV screen, or 720 x 576 pixels on any size PAL TV screen. Users can watch slide shows set to favourite music, which can be played through headphones, the built-in speaker on the face of the player, or by connecting external speakers such as a Creative I-Trigue 2.1 system.
Additional features include a built-in microphone, display of volume levels on screen for optimum recording quality and an organiser with calendar, tasks and contact lists plus synchronisation with Microsoft Outlook. Users can allocate disk space for dedicated storage as well as setting date and time reminders. A clock with a wake-to-any-music alarm, colour themes and different languages is provided for further customisation. The Creative ZEN Vision W connects to a PC via USB 2.0 for fast, easy transfer of content.
