The Photo Marketing Association of Australia is starting a series of Educational Photo Expo programs to help everyday photographers get the best out of their cameras.

-

The day-long events will take place on Saturdays and are designed for every level of interest and skill. The first will be held in Brisbane on 23 August at the Convention & Exhibition Centre, Plaza Level. It will be followed by a second event in Melbourne on 6 September at Victoria University, Level 12, 300 Flinders Street. Events are currently being planned for other venues around Australia in 2015.

The program brings together imaging suppliers and retailers with experts in various photographic genres. Participants can obtain information on how to choose the right camera for your ‘big trip’, tips on using different cameras, printing shots, preserving images and producing photo books. They can also obtain advice on wildlife and portrait photography, travel and sports photography, how to photograph food and how to shoot weddings.

The event opens at 9:30 am and runs until 5:30 pm. Entry to the exhibition and floor demonstrations is free. Online bookings are available for individual tuition sessions at a cost of AU$25 per session or AU$80 for five sessions. Full details of the program can be obtained from www.educationalphotoexpo.com.au, by phoning (02) 9686 3188 or emailing pmaaustralia@pmai.org.
