June 2, 2010: The Photo Marketing Association (International) has announced it will move its annual convention and trade show, which has for many years been held in February, to September next year.
In a break with tradition, the association says ø¢â‚¬Ëœchanges in industry buying cycles and in technology developments made the new schedule advantageous’. Accordingly, next year’s show will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center between 8 and 10 September, 2011. The show will be open to photo enthusiasts on Saturday, September 10.
PMA member associations – including the Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA), Photo Imaging Education Association (PIEA), and Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA) – will hold their customary conferences in conjunction with PMA 2011, September 6-9.
Because 2011 is an odd-numbered year, there will be no Photokina show to compete. However, there has been considerable speculation about potential for conflict between the US-based and European shows in 2012. We’ll keep you posted as further announcements are released.
