The Centre for Contemporary Photography in Fitzroy (Melbourne) has announced details of upcoming workshops for the next three months.

Peter Miller will be presenting an introductory workshop on practical AI image generation on Saturday, 20 April between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Participants will learn basic principles for working with AI, best practices for prompting, techniques for finding original and personal styles, and processes for achieving good print-quality results. The second workshop takes place across two days on the weekend of 27 and 28 April, where Juliet Miranda Rowe will present a hands-on introduction to After Effects (the go-to motion design software). Each day runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and participants will create their own motion collage works using a combination of photography and video their own and public domain. Shannon May Powell will present a workshop titled Feeling Seeing Gaze between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, 4 May. For $50 pp, participants will have an opportunity to experiment with this new way of composing and framing by taking a portrait of someone or something. Details can be found here.

Join Emma Dacey, Julia Silverster and Ellie Thomas on Saturday, 15 June between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. for a hands-on examination and discussion of photographic materials and their preservation.  This workshop is designed to complement artists’ skill sets and provide resources to assist participants in enhancing the presentation and preservation of their work.
