Winning entries have been announced in this year’s My RØDE Reel competition for film-makers, which attracted entries from 114 countries.

Winner of the Judges’ Prize of $200,000 was  Timothy Hay from South Africa with ‘Amanzi Olwandle (Ocean Water)’ . Australian entrant, The Starey Bampire’ from Amelia Farmer took out firat prize in the Comedy section with Kyndra Kennedy from the USA winning the Drama prize for ‘Black Matters’. The Documentary prize was awarded to Arthur Cauty of the UK for ‘The Last Video Store’, while Zach Tolchinsky of the USA won the Animation prize with ‘The Forbidden Zone’. First prize in the Behind the Scenes category went to ‘Flying Colors’ by Devon Dresback of the USA while the People’s Choce award was won by ‘Harmless (Anodin)’ produced by Mathieu Jonckeere Yokaasen of Belgium.

Micah Martinez took out the Young Filmmaker prize with ‘Unicorn Turbo Charge’, David O’Connor of South Africa won the Sound Design prize for ‘Incident’ and the Chinese Film prize went to Tong Z for ‘The Bell’. Click here to view the winning entries. My RØDE Reel will return in 2021.
