Photographers from across regional and remote Australia are invited to submit their work to the inaugural Galah Regional Photography Prize, which has a total prize pool of AU$27,500.

Recently launched by Galah Magazine editor Annabelle Hickson, the prize aims to celebrate and preserve photography from the bush. Supported by several patrons including M|Arts Precinct founders Kris and Stephen Webb and the Burton Taylor Foundation, it is open to photographers living in regional Australia. (You can check your eligibility here.)  The competition will be judged by Tweed Regional Gallery and Margaret Olley Art Centre director Susi Muddiman OAM, along with photographic media artist Tamara Dean, whose work has been shown in collections across Europe, the United States, and Australia. The open winner will be awarded $25,000 in prize money, with $2500 on offer for the student winner.
