Entries have opened for Best in Show 2025: Australian Photographic Dog Prize, a biannual prize to celebrate Australian dogs and pay homage to the legacy of its founder, David Roche AM (1930-2013).
The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers and offers a first prize of $5000.
Winner of the Young Photographer (12-18 years old) category will take home $500 with the same cash prize provided for the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
Candidates can enter up to four works across the categories of Dog portrait, Dogs and companions, Dogs in action, and Puppies.
Finalists will feature in Best in Show 2025: Australian Photographic Dog Prize exhibition at David Roche Gallery from 30 August to 25 October 2025.
To be eligible to enter, all colour photographs must be the photographer’s original artwork taken in Australia after 19 May 2023.
Open to Australian citizens or a resident of Australia (here until the end of 2025).
Entries will close at 5PM (ACDT) 19 May 2025.
