The 2019 Sony Alpha Awards is seeking entries from Australian and New Zealand photographers of all levels with nine categories in this year’s competition.

Now in its fourth year, the competition is free to enter but images submitted must have been taken with Sony Alpha cameras and lenses. Four new categories – Seascape, Astrophotography, Wedding and City / Street – have been added to the traditional Portrait, Landscape, Nature, Sport and Youth categories of previous years. There is $2,000 of Sony digital imaging gear available to win per category. Each of the category winners will also have the chance to win the overall Grand Prize which is $10,000 worth of Sony digital imaging gear.
Entries to the competition will close on 31 August, 2019 and finalists will be contacted early in September with winners announced at the end of that month. Click here for full details of this year’s competition.
