Submissions for next year’s Felix Schoeller Photo Award will open on 1 January 2021 with a focus upon two categories: the German Peace Prize for Photography and emerging photographers.

The German Peace Prize for Photography returns in 2021 thanks to an on-going cooperation with the city of peace, Osnabrück. It is open to all professional photographers and comes with prize money of 10,000 euros. Submissions must address the topic of ‘peace’ conceptually. The concept of peace is defined very broadly. It can be peace between peoples, peaceful coexistence in a country or family, or even inner peace.

Since the Felix Schoeller Photo Award was launched in 2013, it has focused on promoting young photographers. As the German Peace Prize for Photography is not open to young photographers, the category ‘Best Work by an Emerging Photographer’ will be announced in 2021, with prize money of €2,500 and support from CAPTURE X. All nominees in this category will also receive an exclusive online session with a jury member to discuss their work (portfolio presentation).

The winners and nominees’ works in both categories will be presented to the public from 3 October 2021 in the Museumsquartier Osnabrück as part of an exhibition lasting several months. The high-quality papers of the CAPTURE X brand will be used. Click here for more information.
