Pentax has announced several software and firmware updates that apply to its DSLR cameras.

 

April 28, 2007: Pentax has announced several software and firmware updates that apply to its DSLR cameras.
The first involves the release of RAW codec software that allows PEF-RAW files from the Pentax *ist D, *ist DS, *istDS2, *istDL, *istDL2, K100D and K10D to be opened on computers running Windows Vista. Pentax has also announced Firmware Version 1.20 for the K10D, which makes the camera compatible with the Pentax Remote Assistant. This software, which has also been updated, allows photographers to control the camera via a tethered computer. Extended functions in the new version include support for two tethered cameras and improvements to the interval, timer and bulb exposure modes.
Pentax has also updated its Photo Browser and Photo Laboratory applications, adding extended noise control and lens correction functions. The new updates can be downloaded from http://www.pentax.co.jp/english/support/.
