April 26, 2007: Pantone will showcase its new hueyPRO display calibration device at the PMA 2007 Imaging Technology Expo in Melbourne, which opens on May 4.
Successor to the original huey, the hueyPRO is roughly the size of a marker pen and retains the innovative form of the original huey, as well as its ability to continually adjust the monitor as room lighting changes. Designed to help photographers and creative professionals to improve colour accuracy and consistency across multiple CRT, laptop and LCD displays, hueyPRO comes with updated software that offers increased control over brightness and contrast through separate menu choices that allow users to select gamma and white point settings. An improved Help function offers hints and workflow suggestions for improving colour output.
hueyPRO sits in the middle of a family of colour calibration products that starts with the entry-level huey, which is designed and priced for photo hobbyists. The hueyPRO suits enthusiast photographers who want greater control over colour, along with consistence between monitors. At the top of the range is the Eye-One Display2, which takes longer to produce colour profiles but delivers a higher degree of accuracy and control and suits photographers with multiple screen computer set-ups.
hueyPRO will be available in Australia around mid May 2007 SRP of AU$229. huey is currently available at www.ausmedia.com.au and other resellers for a SRP of AU$179 inc GST. Both devices work with LCD, CRT and laptop monitors and are compatible with Mac OSX 10.3.9 and higher, and Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista.
