September 1, 2011: Panasonic has announced the development of a new Lumix twin-lens compact camera with 3D capabilities, allowing users to shoot still images in 3D and record videos in high definition 3D.
Scheduled to be previewed at the IFA electronics show, which opens in Berlin tomorrow, it features twin, 4x optical zoom lenses with thin, folded optics and optical image stabilisation and can capture both still images and video clips in 2D and 3D. 3D videos are recorded in the AVCHD format using the side-by-side method. Still images and video clips are recorded on SD/SDHC or SDXC memory cards and can be viewed on Panasonic TV sets via a card slot or HDMI cable.
The new camera will be available in Australia in 2012 with further details and pricing to be announced closer to the release date. We’ll post product images in this announcement as soon as they become available.
