Panasonic has released details of its camcorder line-up for the first half of this year, which will see the introduction of eight new models.

 

February 15, 2011: Panasonic has released details of its camcorder line-up for the first half of this year, which will see the introduction of eight new models.
Two new 3MOS Full High Definition camcorders, the HDC-HS900 (RRP $2099) and HDC-SD900 (RRP $1499) will be added at the top of the range, providing Full HD 1920 x 1080/50p AVCHD recording , a high-quality f/1.5 Leica Dicomar lens and Crystal Engine Pro processor plus 3.5-inch LCD screens with advanced touch operation. Both models can record to SDXC/SDHC/SD Memory Cards, while the HDC-HS900 has a 220GB hard disk drive for additional memory storage.
Panasonic has also announced four new Full HD 1MOS camcorders – the HDC-SD90 (RRP $849), the HDC-HS80 (RRP $949), the HDC-SD80 (RRP $749), and the HDC-SD40 (RRP $449). The new camcorders incorporate a 1MOS sensor, with the HDC-SD90 featuring 1920 x 1080/50p resolution, and all other models offering 50i. All models can record to SDXC/SDHC/SD Memory Cards, while the HDC-HS80 also has a 120GB hard disk drive for additional memory storage.

The new SDR-H101 (RRP $549) and SDR-S71 (RRP $349) models come with powerful 70x optical zoom lenses with a wide angle equivalent to 33mm and facilities to extend the zoom to 78x. Both feature Panasonic’s Advanced Optical Image Stabilisation feature (OIS) with Active mode to help reduce blur when zooming, even if the user is walking. Both models record to SDXC, SDHC or SD Memory Cards, while the SDR-H101 also records data onto an 80GB hard disk drive (HDD) (approximately 74 hours and 30 minutes of data when recording in LP mode).
