October 24, 2007: Next month will see the release of Panasonic’s first 16GB Pro High Speed SDHC memory card.

Launched to coincide with the release of Panasonic’s new DSLR camera, the Lumix DMC-L10, the new 16GB card can hold roughly 3,000 still images captured in JPEG Fine mode with the DMC-L10. With a data transfer speed of up to 20MB/second the new card is also ideal for video capture and supports AVCHD High Definition recording. When used with Panasonic’s latest High Definition camcorders (HDC-SD5/HDC-SX5), the card can record approximately four hours of High Definition video in AVCHD normal mode, and approximately two hours 40 minutes of 1920 x 1080i full High Definition video in AVCHD fine mode.
