The GH5 will be the first mirrorless camera to be capable of recording smooth, high-precision 4K 60p/50p or faithful 4:2:2 10-bit 4K 30p video. It will also feature a new ‘6K PHOTO’ mode, a development of Panasonic’s ‘4K PHOTO’ function, which will extract still images from ultra high-quality video at a resolution of about 18 megapixels, roughly nine times the pixel count of Full-HD. Eight-megapixel 4K Photo images can also be recorded at up to 60 fps. The new camera will contain advanced digital signal processing and heat dissipation technologies in a compact, lightweight body.
The LUMIX GH5 goes on show at Photokina 2016, which will be held at Koelnmesse in Germany, through 20-25 September, together with the new Leica DG Vario-Elmarit f/2.8-4.0 Lens Series, which includes a new 12-60mm standard zoom lens, 8-18mm wide zoom lens and 50-200mm telephoto zoom lens.
