Panasonic has also made a formal announcement of the availability of the Leica DG NOCTICRON 42.5mm f/1.2 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. (H-NS043) interchangeable lens for the LUMIX G cameras. Initially announced in August 2013, this lens covers a field of view equivalent to roughly 85mm in 35mm format, making it suitable for portraiture. The fast f/1.2 maximum aperture enables it to be used in dim lighting and provides great scope for selective focusing. A new stepping motor drive ensures smooth and silent   autofocusing, while the POWER O.I.S. stabilisation provides effective compensation for common forms of camera shake. This lens is due for release during the first quarter of 2014 at suggested prices of US$1599, €1499 or £1299.
