March 1, 2009: With the launch of the Orbis ring flash this month, Kayell provides an affordable option for photographers who require a ring flash for shadowless lighting.
Designed by photographers, the Orbis flash will retail for $299. It is made from durable, lightweight ABS plastic and clips onto the photographers’ existing flash, redirecting the flash light around the ring shaped unit. This both transforms the single flash light source into a ring of light, at the same time minimising light loss. Unlike the other ring flash modifier on the market, the Orbis is designed to leave the camera’s functionality unimpeded. The patent-pending dock that fits the photographer’s flash has been designed to accept all commonly available flashes.
