August 9, 2006: Olympus Imaging Australia has introduced a new M-XD2GM Type M-series xD-Picture Card, an advanced ultra-compact memory media with a data-storage capacity of 2GB.
Currently offering the highest capacity in the xD-Picture Card’s current range, the M-XD2GM Type M-series xD-Picture Card is designed for use in high-resolution cameras and uses the latest high-capacity storage technology. The new card will allow photographers to store approximately 1000 images while an Olympus digital still camera is in HQ mode – the default high-quality image setting shots with an average image size of 8 megapixels. It also supports advanced video-recording functions.

The M2 GB Type M-Series xD-Picture Card uses the latest high-capacity storage technology based on the Multi-Level Cell (MLC). Each card measures 25.0 (W) x 20.0 (H) x 1.7mm (D) in size. All the members of the xD-Picture Card Type M-series are now being developed using this advanced technology. The new cards go on sale this month. For more information, visit www.olumpusimaging.com.au.
