Olympus has announced a firmware update for the OM-D E-M1, which significantly improves continuous AF performance in the high-speed sequential shooting mode and enhances Wi-Fi control functionality.

Version 3.0 of the camera firmware will increase the maximum sequential shooting speed to 9 fps from a previous 6.5 fps when the Sequential H mode is used.

The new firmware also supports the use of the new Olympus Image Share (OI.Share) version 2.5 smart-phone app with the E-M1, enabling camera control, picture editing and easy data transfer to social media over Wi-Fi.

App users can also select movies as a shooting mode and record movies with Live View using the smart-phone screen.

The new firmware and updated OI.Share app will be released simultaneously on 22 February 2015 on the support pages of the Olympus website at www.olympus.com.au.
