The new camera’s retracting 24x optical zoom lens has a maximum aperture range of f/3.8-8.7 and supports wide-angle coverage plus the ability to zoom in for sport, nature and stage performances. The built-in 5-Axis Hybrid IS (optical and digital IS) system supports stable movie recordings, even when the photographer is walking or shooting from a vehicle. The Stylus SH-2’s new Nightscape shooting mode includes five specially designed night shooting settings, including Night+Portrait, Night Scene, Fireworks and
Handheld Starlight settings as well as Live Composite, which was introduced on the OM-D E-M10 and supports very long exposures.

Built-in Wi-Fi enables easy sharing of pictures and movies from a smart-phone, via Olympus’ OI.Share app (iOS and Android supported). Full-time Live View can be viewed on the smart-phone screen for precise framing and Touch AF remote shooting with the camera placed a few meters away. The Stylus SH-2 includes the ability to record Full HD 50/60p movies as well as time-lapse sequences for compressing actions into short clips. High-speed movies can be recorded at 240 fps (HVGA: 432 x 324) and 120 fps (HD: 1280 x 720). A Photo & Movie Capture mode lets users capture still photos during a video recording. Seven creative Art Filters can be applied to stills and photos and the new camera includes HDR, manual exposure and RAW file format settings.
The Olympus STYLUS SH-2 will be available in Silver and Black from March 2015. Recommended retail price is to be announced. For more information, visit http://www.olympus.com.au/.
